Your inverter data and this app.

Inverter ESS is an independent iPhone client developed by Sharanappa Mallappa. It connects directly to the existing SmartESS-compatible cloud service. We do not run an account or telemetry database for this app.

1. What leaves your iPhone

When you sign in, the app sends your username and a password-derived authentication signature over HTTPS to api.dessmonitor.com, operated by the Eybond/DessMonitor service. It uses the returned session to request your account’s collectors, inverter identifiers, measurements, history and supported settings.

If you explicitly confirm a setting change, the selected device identifier, setting identifier and requested value are sent to that service. The app then requests fresh values to check the outcome. Browsing Home, History or settings does not itself save a setting.

The service necessarily receives connection information such as your public IP address and request timing. Its account policies, processing, logs, retention and deletion practices are controlled by the service operator. They are not controlled by Inverter ESS. Contact the original service provider for its current privacy policy and account-data requests. Provider-side retention and public-client permissions are being confirmed before public app distribution.

2. What stays on your iPhone

• The cloud session is stored in the iOS Keychain with device-only access protection. Your plain-text password is not saved by the app.
• Preferences include your entered username, selected inverter, appearance and personal site/battery notes.
• Recently viewed cloud measurements, settings and save outcomes are cached by account and inverter. The app keeps up to 31 viewed cloud-history days and, if local diagnostics is used, up to 2,000 local samples.
• Display labels and battery notes are for your interface; the app does not send them to our own server.

App files and preferences may be included in backups according to your Apple device settings. The device-only session is not migrated to a different device through a backup.

3. Optional local diagnostics

If you enable and use local diagnostics, the app communicates with the local logger IP and identifier you supply over your Wi-Fi network. iOS may ask for Local Network permission. This is optional and is not required for cloud monitoring. The local diagnostics path is restricted to verified read queries; it does not change the logger’s persistent server configuration.

4. Analytics, advertising and permissions

The native app includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. It does not request your location, contacts, camera or microphone. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Your cloud account’s service operator processes requests as described above.

This support website has no account form, tracking scripts or advertising. It is hosted using OpenAI Sites infrastructure; hosting providers may process network request information and operational logs to serve and protect the website.

5. Retention, sign-out and deletion

Sign out in Settings to remove the saved cloud session. Sign-out retains local history and preferences so they remain available when you return to the same account. To remove app files, sign out and delete the app from your iPhone. Manage or delete existing device backups through Apple’s backup settings.

The app does not create cloud accounts and cannot delete the original service account or data stored by that provider. Request those changes through SmartESS/Eybond/DessMonitor. Deleting Inverter ESS does not delete your inverter’s cloud history.

6. Support messages

If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message. We use the information you choose to send to respond and troubleshoot. Do not send passwords, session tokens or full device identifiers. You may request deletion of support correspondence by email; copies held by mail providers or required for legitimate recordkeeping may remain.

7. Important limits

Data may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable. Battery percentage is an inverter estimate. The app is not a safety device, emergency monitor or guaranteed alarm service. No data is intentionally requested from children. This app is intended for people authorized to monitor and operate their equipment.

8. Contact and updates
