Your existing account
Use the SmartESS account already linked to your equipment. Cloud access needs the logger online and an internet connection, without a Mac at the site.
Each inverter, separately
Select an inverter when your account has more than one. Available readings, sampled history and personal display preferences stay separated by account and inverter.
Controls with context
Review supported settings and their explanations. A setting is sent only through an explicit Save flow, followed by a fresh readback. Hardware can reject a request.
A few useful answers
Will every SmartESS inverter work?
Compatibility depends on the inverter, protocol and account permissions. The current development version has been tested with protocol codes 2477 and 2334. Some fields and controls are unavailable on particular models. We do not promise universal support.
How often do readings refresh?
The app checks while open, normally every minute, with an optional five-minute interval. The logger may upload less often. The time of the available cloud report matters more than how often the app asks. This is not a background alarm service.
Is the battery percentage exact?
No. It is labelled as an inverter estimate. Voltage and charging current do not give a precise state of charge for tubular lead-acid batteries. Charger active and actual net battery charging are shown separately when sufficient data is available.
What if I cannot sign in or see a device?
First confirm that the same account works and lists the inverter in the original SmartESS app. Check that the logger is online. If it still fails, contact us with your app version, iPhone/iOS version and inverter model. Do not send your password, session token or full device identifiers.
Does this replace installer advice or protection equipment?
No. Readings can be delayed or unavailable. Settings depend on the exact inverter and battery specifications. Consult the manufacturer or a qualified installer before changing operating limits. The app is not an emergency protection or safety system.
